Once upon a time, I knew a woman in a far away place who identified herself as "burningbooks." She was a book person. I like book people. I liked her more than she wanted me to, but for one night, she liked me enough. We had a romantic night of organ jazz and the only movie ever filmed in Esperanto. I would say "I never recovered" as if it was some kind of dramatic thing, but you never actually do recover from anyone, you just learn to live without. Take a number!

This is a recording/edit of the two sets I played at a completely unrelated friend's bookstore at her expansion party. I have known her since she was in high school and now she is a mother and an entrepreneur and it was a joy to be involved with this.

She named her store Lit On Fire. I'm not sure what it is with book people and the imagery of roasting volumes, but I have been presented with a theme.

In between my sets were a comedian and an animator that worked on Dragon's Lair. There was no air conditioning, and it was 95 degrees when I set up. I might have suffered heatstroke. I seemed to be the one burning and on fire ...

It was a good night.
